Refractive Surgery and Vision Correction

Refractive surgery continues to develop as new technologies provide improved options for correcting refractive errors and reducing dependence on spectacles or contact lenses. This session explores current advances in LASIK, PRK, SMILE, phakic intraocular lenses, and other vision-correction procedures. Discussions will focus on patient selection, preoperative assessment, surgical precision, postoperative care, and management of complications. Advances in corneal imaging and wavefront-based technologies will also be considered. Emerging approaches for presbyopia correction and customized refractive treatment may provide additional opportunities for individualized care. Experts will share clinical outcomes, research developments, and practical considerations in refractive surgery. Particular attention will be given to safety, predictability, visual quality, and long-term patient satisfaction.
