Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus

Pediatric eye care plays an important role in supporting normal visual development and preventing lifelong visual impairment. This session focuses on common and complex eye conditions affecting infants, children, and adolescents. Topics include amblyopia, strabismus, refractive errors, congenital eye disorders, pediatric cataracts, and childhood glaucoma. Early screening, accurate diagnosis, and timely intervention will be emphasized. Advances in pediatric imaging, genetic evaluation, surgical techniques, and non-invasive treatment approaches will also be discussed. The session will highlight the importance of family-centered care and collaboration among ophthalmologists, pediatricians, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals. Emerging approaches for improving visual development and long-term outcomes will be explored.
