Myopia Management, Vision Development and Preventive Ophthalmology

The increasing prevalence of myopia has created a growing need for effective prevention, early detection, and long-term management strategies. This session explores childhood myopia, refractive development, environmental influences, and approaches to controlling myopia progression. Discussions will include optical interventions, contact lenses, orthokeratology, pharmacological approaches, and lifestyle-based strategies. Vision development and the importance of regular eye examinations during childhood will also be highlighted. Experts will examine emerging research into risk factors, treatment effectiveness, and personalized myopia management. Preventive ophthalmology will be discussed as an important component of reducing future vision-related complications. Collaboration between ophthalmologists, optometrists, pediatricians, educators, and families will be encouraged.
