Neuro-Ophthalmology and Vision-Brain Disorders

Neuro-ophthalmology connects ophthalmic care with neurology and provides important insights into disorders affecting the visual pathways and brain. This session explores conditions such as optic neuropathy, optic neuritis, papilledema, visual pathway disorders, and neurodegenerative conditions affecting vision. Discussions will address clinical examination, neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and advanced diagnostic approaches. The relationship between neurological disease and visual dysfunction will receive particular attention. Emerging research in neuroprotection, biomarkers, artificial intelligence, and neurological imaging may offer new opportunities for diagnosis and management. Experts will discuss complex clinical cases and multidisciplinary approaches involving ophthalmology and neurology. Early recognition and accurate diagnosis are essential for preventing permanent visual and neurological damage.
