Ocular Surface Disorders & Dry Eye Management

This track addresses the growing burden of ocular surface disorders, with a focus on dry eye disease, meibomian gland dysfunction, and ocular allergies. Attendees will gain insights into the latest diagnostic advancements such as tear film osmolarity testing, meibography, and non-invasive tear breakup time measurement. Treatment discussions will include novel anti-inflammatory agents, punctal plugs, thermal pulsation therapy, intense pulsed light (IPL), and emerging biologics. The role of lifestyle, nutrition, and environmental modifications in managing chronic ocular surface disease will be explored. The track will also cover postoperative dry eye and strategies for managing ocular surface complications in refractive and cataract surgery. Experts will present multidisciplinary approaches integrating optometry, rheumatology, and dermatology perspectives. Interactive workshops will provide hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and device demonstrations. This session will equip clinicians with a holistic and up-to-date understanding of ocular surface disease and strategies to improve patient comfort, compliance, and long-term outcomes.
