Ocular Oncology & Tumor Diagnostics

Ocular oncology is a rapidly advancing field addressing both benign and malignant tumors of the eye, orbit, and adnexa. This track will provide an in-depth look into the diagnosis, imaging, pathology, and treatment of conditions like retinoblastoma, uveal melanoma, conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma, and orbital lymphomas. Emphasis will be placed on the role of multimodal imaging—ultrasound, MRI, OCT, and fundus autofluorescence—in tumor characterization and monitoring. Attendees will learn about radiation therapies including brachytherapy and proton beam, surgical options such as enucleation and exenteration, and systemic targeted therapies. Sessions will also explore molecular diagnostics, tumor genetics, and the evolving role of immunotherapy in ocular cancers. Clinical case reviews, pathology slides, and multidisciplinary tumor board simulations will enhance diagnostic skills and decision-making. This session is essential for ophthalmic oncologists, general ophthalmologists, and those managing complex ocular presentations involving neoplasia.
